Overview

  • The BNSF Station Browser is an interactive system which allows users to search for specific stations or view all the BNSF Revenue Stations contained in the Corporate Reference Files Station Master. The information retrieved from this browser is real time and up to date as it currently exist in the Station Master.

  • This application replaces the Static Lotus Notes, PDF, and Text formats which were previously available. These representations of the Station Master were not real time and only accurate every month when the latest data was loaded.

  • This application is available to anyone who has internet access 24 hours and day, 7 days per week.

Searching BNSF Stations

  • Once you are on the Main Menu you will see a check box labeled ‘All Stations’ and five search criteria input fields, City, State, OPSL, County and SPLC.

    • If you wish to view all BNSF Revenue Stations click on the ‘All Stations’ checkbox, (the lower search fields will become non-enterable), then click on the Search Stations button.

    • For a more specific search please fill in search fields, in any combination, that supports your query, then press the Search Stations Buttons.

      • City – This search field has an auto fill function. Once you type 3 characters or more the cities matching your search will appear in the box below. You may select the city of your choice from the pick list.

      • State – This search field also has an auto fill function. Once you type the first character the system will find all states that match the city input and provide a pick list of appropriate states. If the city search field is blank you may select from any valid state. This allows for finding all stations in a particular state.

      • OPSL – No edits are placed on this field. You many enter any valid OPSL number and all stations that have this OPSL number will be returned. If that number does not exist then the system will return no results.

      • County – No edits exist on this field. Type in any valid county and all stations that match this county will be returned. If the county entered does not exist then the system will return no results.

      • SPLC – No edits have been placed on this field. Type in any valid SPLC and stations that match the SPLC will be returned. If the entered SPLC does not exist then the system will return no results.

Using the Results Page

  • The results page will show all stations that have matched your search criteria.

  • The body of the results page will hold up to 100 results at a time. To view them simply use the scroll bar at the right.

  • If your search resulted in more than 100 stations you will need to navigate to the next page either by clicking on the blue > right arrow on the menu bar of the results or by typing in the desired page number and pressing the enter key.

  • In the body of the results there are two columns, City and County which are underlined. These are hot links.

    • When you click on the City name you are taken to a detail page which simply shows the details of that station in a column format. To return to the results page click on the Back Button.

    • When you click on the County name and new search is started which is the County and displayed state. These results will display all Stations in that county/St combination. To return to the initial results page click on the back button.

Viewing the Results Page

  • The Station Browser has two types of output available.

    • Excel – By clicking on the ‘Export to Excel’ button on the menu bar all stations in the results will be loaded to an Excel Spreadsheet that you can save to your computer.

    • PDF – By clicking on the ‘Export to PDF’ button on the menu bar all stations in the results will be loaded to a PDF file you can save on your computer.
